I need to buy an entire new head unit / system. I know the AVIC F500BT isn't a head unit, but here is what I would like to do.

I have a DVD Player under the passenger seat that feeds both my head rest displays. I would like to run a line into the AVIC F500BT and watch DVD's on it as well. I've searched and read where the F500BT has aux input, but didn't know if this is really possible?

My goal is to put in a nice head unit, then tie in a F500bt for Nav, Bluetooth, MSN Direct and DVD playing in the front.

The advantages is that I could get a head unit that supports going active with my components, I would have a ton of audio settings and I could mount the F500BT below the line of sight so that incase it accidentally came on while I was driving :D , the police wouldn't ticket me.

If this would work, I could have way more functionality than the F90BT or F900BT for a lot less.

The Pioneer EU site says you can use the CD-RM10 cable together with the F500BT exactly for that (see expandability section): http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/3 ... specs.html

The US site doesn't detail a specific accessory for that, only says: Receiver Features - Auxiliary Input - Front A/V Input (Mini-Jack).

When you search for CD-RM10 on the US site you get: "This cable is to be used with the AVIC-D3 and AVH-P5900DVD".

(http://www.pioneer-america.com/PUSA/Pro ... ts/CD-RM10)

This is probably yet another cr*py Pioneer webpage where the person updating the content is probably some employee that has no clue about the products or even a doubt to ask a question...

IMHO you're all set with the CD-RM10.

I have a TV receiver connected to the F500. If you do not want to buy the original cable, you only need two things, and you can input any signal device.

If you find this cable, don´t need anything more.
