DO you have a d2? If so then you already have that version. IF yo have a d1 then call up pioneer and they'll ship you the software upgrade.

So if you have verion 1.2 that say d1 on the disks they will work in a D2??? even though they say d1 on the disk it is irrelevant as long as its version 1.2 right?? sorry I'm a newb.

Probably not. Since the d1 used the 50 series mapset and the d2 uses the 60 series software. If the d2 has been used with the 60 series disc and you try to put the 50 series in, the avic will spit out an error saying incorrect disc.

That's normal you have the 60 series mapset. The d2's firmware is version 1.0

If I buy the D2 do you know if it'll be upgradeable to the new d3 coming out?

The map disks are always backwards compatible so yes you will be able to upgrade to the 07 maps
