I have a AVIC-Z1 with the hard drive updated to the Z3 software. I burn audio CDs with CD-Text and rip them in the AVIC to add them to my library. When the songs are ripped it looks like the CD-Text is being read and added. The artist shows up on the screen when I play the song. However, the artist isn't added to the library. When I search by Artist I don't see them.

If I go and edit the artist for the track I get the message "Some characters in CD-TEXT are using an unsupported font, and have been replaced by a space. Please edit if required." I hit OK to close the dialog. On the text entry screen the name looks correct and I just hit OK without any edits. At that point the artist shows up in the list when I search by artist.

I used both Nero and Media Monkey to burn my audio CDs. CDs burned from either of these programs have this problem. My guess is maybe something in the ID tag for the artist is causing this, but I'm not totally sure of that. I've ripped audio CDs before when it was the Z1 software and those artists show up when I search by artist. So that could be another possible answer, but I've also converted my library from Windows Media Player to Media Monkey, too.

At this point I don't know what's causing this and hoping someone can point me in the right direction by giving a better explanation of the error message since I don't know how "fonts" are even used in CD-Text (I thought it was just text).
