I've had a subwoofer hooked up to this deck since I first installed it months ago. Everything worked fine until last night while I was driving home. The sub began to cut out, then come back on, then cut out again, then come back on again. This happened for about five minutes straight until it finally cut out completely.

I spent a couple hours troubleshooting things last night. I checked all the settings, traced all the wiring, checked connections, checked the fuses in the amp, etc. Finally (and probably what I should have done first) I took an RCA --> standard audio jack adapter and hooked a pair of headphones directly up to the subwoofer output. I triple checked the settings and the subwoofer was still enabled on the deck, volume was up, etc. The result: absolutely nothing being fed into the headphones.

It seems as is the deck has stopped producing any sound through the subwoofer's RCA hookup :(

The farthest I can trace this back to is the plug. The rest of the unit still works fine, however I quickly realized that everything EXCEPT the subwoofer works off of a different plug. If you look here, the plug in question is the white one:

This is the same plug that powers iPods, rear view camera, etc., but I don't have anything to hook up to it to test.

I called Pioneer Parts, and this is a $43 plug (part number CDP1143). So before I waste money guessing I was hoping to find someone who may have seen this before or who has an idea as to what I might have missed.

Thanks in advance :)

some radios have an internal fuse on the pre-outs, i would call pioneer to see if this could be the problem. also there could be somthing wrong with the board(broken solder, bent pin, defective board) either way if there is no sound comming out of the unit, a trip to the service center in probably in order.

I just read my original post and I should clarify that the unit DOES produce sound in all speakers EXCEPT for the subwoofer. In other words, everything works fine except for the sub.

I'll try giving pioneer a call tomorrow when they're open again. Thanks :)
