I am new to this forum.. just got a European F700 via ebay.

I have plugged it in to a Honda CRV - everything works fine.

 

Next steps for me is to fit a reverse camera

 

Looking at the specs for the F700, I see this:

Color System:

Avic-F900BT..... NTSC/PAL Compatible

Avic-F700BT..... NTSC

 

So, this is fairly clear to me.. I must use a NTSC camera for my F700, even though it is a EUR model.

 

I guess my question is.. why? I thought the 700 & 900 were almost identical except for the DVD playback.

Does this also mean I am limited on other video sources too? e.g. if I have a movie ripped to a SD card / USB disk must it be in NTSC format?
