I just picked up an F900 from the Best buy that I work at for $350. It has the GPS antenna, mic, and all appropriate harnesses. I powered up the unit, everything turns on ok, but when I go to try and sync my iphone, alllll the phone settings are grayed out. Also, I can look and move around the map, I powered up the unit on my test bench and plugged the antenna in and it recognizes where I am at, but it doesn't appear that I can actually set a destination or do an address search......

I have both updates saved to SD cards ready to update, but they won't take yet. I have even tried resetting the unit.

I take it I am missing discs or SD cards?

bypass is the answer

pioneers wont let you get in to most of the settings unless the parking brake it set (the parking brake wire must "see" ground in order to use the features), ground the wire and you can get into the settings(on the bench).

if you want to be able to get into the settings while the car is moving (not reccomended) or you just want to be able to get into the settings with out setting the parking brake then as IDT mentioned, you will either need to do the hardware bypass (easy) or the software bypass (a little more involved). All of this your autotechs should have known and been able to tell you
