It turns out my AVIC-Z1 is newer and I didn't need the bypass unit. I had the fix done to my system which seems to work with the parking brake off but as soon as I start driving the controls become inactive and DVD swithces off and a error comes up saying it is prohibited from use while driving. Did I do something wrong on the bypass? Thanks....

I am not sure if something that I had done changed this but up in the top right where the time usually is, it is astericks instead? Any ideas on that? Thanks again. JB

Is the gps antenna fully plugged in. normally the avic will do that for the time when it isn't able to get the time from the gps signal.
