I am a new guy on here so yea. I just got my F500bt last night and I couldn't get it to update via the SD card. Everytime I put the SD card it it does not read and If I put it back into the computer it told me it was corrupted and I need to reformat it. Also when I try to play music on the F500bt through the SD card it does not work... I used a 256mb, 1gb, and a 2gb. The 1gb actually stop working or something. It does not even get read on my cell phone or laptop. Sooo I was wondering if there is a special format for the SD card that I need to know about? Or do I just have a defeative unit. O yeah 1 more thing. The SD card does show up when I try to change the background picture it give me the SD option but it still does not play music or update off of it.

The USB update does work. I updated to 2.00600 or w/e last night.

So is there any way I can fix it to read music off the SD card? Like I just got it last night new in box and it does work and I am really pissed.

There is no special format required for the SD card, fat32 works fine.

If the device corrupts the card file system after you insert it (checked by trying to read the card back on a pc) and you tried with multiple cards, then your new avic is probably faulty.

Okay so this is what happen. I put the file *update / music * on the sd card. I put it in the AVIC. The AVic doesn't read it. I put it back in the computer. It tells me I have to reformat it so that I may use it... I will give them a call 2m. I just got like 3 days ago and already its being dumb...

any idea?
