I notice alot of people here were having problems with their Iphone or Ipod woring half the time or not working at all. I have done some testing here is what you should know. The Iphone 3g, 3gs and some Ipod is requring more battery power to operate correctly. If you are using the offical pioneer cables that has the audio, video, and usb in one cable you should be affected. For all you guys that are pulling your hair for it to work you need to seperate the audio/video from the usb cable...Just get a regular usb cable for your ipod or Iphone and connect it, your pioneer device will respond to it with out a problem. Now your probably wondering where do we get the sound. You need to puchase a head phone jack that has the composite cables on the other end (video/audio) once you connect it. It will work 99.9% of the time, cant give a 100 just in case some one elses equip is really crappy. But I have spent a month trying both version the right way and the wrong way and the wrong way works all the time.

so remember

1)iphone,ipod usb data cable

2)a audio head phone jack that has composite cables on ther end..

Oh and if you do it this way, it will also charge your Iphone or Ipod

Our two iPhone 3G's work fine with our F700's with the Pioneer iPod cable. They don't charge using that cable, and I occasionally get an error message on the iPhone that says the external device is not designed to work with the iPhone. But, it plays music fine, and is controlled by the AVIC interface just fine. We do need to use separate chargers plugged into the lighter outlets, though.

Thanks b1bambu, I got idea on your post and it works on my ipod video with my avic-f900, but my ipod classic won't work, it will not show video but it has a sound when I play music videos, do you think my ipod classic has the problem? BTW I am using he same cables (the USB cable that came with the IPOD and a headphone jack with the the composite A/V cable) ,how will I gonna test it?

Your post is a little confusing to me. I understand about the USB cable, but using a cable with a microphone connector on one end is what I do not understand. My cable has an IPOD 30 pin connector that comes out of the IPhone and goes into the RCA connectors. Then I have the USB cable. Can you try to tell me again in a different way so I won't be so stupid. lol. I noticed that when I first plug it in, I get the error that "this blah,blah,blah...(I don't remember how it's worded), but if I unplug, the re-plug, it will work, (Charge and play).

Thanks,

Brett....
