I sent my avic z1 into Pioneers repair center in CA and havent heard anything. UPS said it was delivered and signed for last friday. Pioneer said to mail the hu with a copy of the recipt and my contact info. They did not give me any kind of account number. If any of you have sent your pioneer in for repair how long did it take before you were contacted or recieved your unit back?

Mine was out for about 6 weeks before I finally got back. Same as you, shipped to a service center in cali.

Mine needed the screen recalibrated. Of course this happened one week before someone posted how to get into the d series's service menu.

In the end though they would up replacing the screen as a whole, since some how it got cracked in transit.

I sent mine in because of excessive alternator noise. I tried using the PAC filters and a new alternator but still made just as much noise. It also made a humming noise when I turned on the headlights even with the car off. You could even hear the hard drive seeking over the speakers. I hope they fix it. That sucks that I am going to be without it until near christmas.

Just to let you guys know and to try to contribute to the info here I got my avicz1 back today! It was out of my posession for exactly 1 week. I live in So cal so the shipping was only one day from the so cal pioneer repair center. I pluged it in and it is working great!!! Finally after owning this unit for about 6 months I dont have any alternator noise!!!!!!! They said they replaced a single internal fuse and reset the system.
