now that I have fixed my big problem now on to my last one I have. I have shearched on here and checked pioneer for a replacement USB cable for the unit to no avail. does anyone know how to get one?
replacement usb cables
For the F700 its part no. CDE8561 http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CDE8561
But if I were you I wouldn't pay them 40 something bucks for it, given you already hacked the device open. Just buy a usb extension cord, cut off the plug and solder the wires.

you know how the wiring is done? because a usbcable has 4 wires and the plug on the board had 5 pins? i can't find any of it in the diagrams in the repairmanual.
Isn't the 5th pin meant for charging devices?
Isn't the 5th pin meant for charging devices?
that's for some of the mini/micro formats, full size USB has only 4 conductors
anybody knows the exact pin layout on the print board?

No. And no to all the other guesses.
The fifth pin on the connector in the AVIC is for the shield in the USB cable. All USB cables have this, and all USB connectors are really 5 pin. The 5th pin (or connection) is the metal hood around the connector. It's an electrical connection just like the four pins on the inside.
Well I did find out that I can order a replacement from Pioneer via my local car parts suplier. In my cas this was halfords. (Netherlands)
The price was acceptable: 14 euro's + 6 euro shipping costs.
