I purchased a used car with a Z1 installed. The car has steering wheel controls. Everything worked flawlessly at first but now:

1. Sometimes when a song ends, instead of going to the next song, it goes to the next CD.

2. Sometimes when I raise the volume using the steering wheel button, it goes on to the next song.

3. Sometimes when I press the button on the wheel to advance to the next track, the radio goes to AM or FM

4. Sometimes when I press the "lower volume" on the steering wheel, it actually raises the volume

The buttons on the unit seem to work ok so it leads me to believe something is wrong in the wheel controls although that wouldn't explain why sometimes it goes to the next CD rather than the next track.

Do I have a bad hard drive?

Is there a reset button?

All the problems above do not happen all the time.

I'd say you probably have a bad steering wheel interface module or it's not programmed properly. Did you confirm it's the correct model for your car?
