I just pulled my AVIC Z1 out of my old car. I now have a 2004 Nissan Murano...It doesnt come with Nav at all......Im told no way jose I can install my Z1 in this car.. Any ideas?

Or if not the ZI any other model..please dont tell me to get a portable unit..::sticking finger in mouth:::After having my ZI ...the portables are junk!

thanks for any help on this one ....

I used to have a Murano and I would think you should be able to install it.

The radio part of the dash is bigger than a double din if I remember correctly, so you may have to make a custom faceplate.

The only problem would be if the screen that displays all the AC/heat functions and the trip counter stuff will work without the radio. If it wont, then you probably cant do it.

Thanks for answering..Yes I'm finding out I do need a custom faceplate.

Now the question that no one seems to be able to answer..if the radio is disconnected from the information center...Does the information center still work......

I'm searching the net for that answer...still haven't found it...

I just picked out a 2007 Murano w/o Nav today and asked the sales guy whether the info screen will still function properly (A/C, etc.) without the factory radio. He didn't know, but he called up the local car audio shop to get an answer. According to the salesman, the audio shop said the info display will still function, but of course it will no longer display radio-specific info.

Sadly to say...I have my ZI on ebay for sale..You can't install this unit in a Murano....the reason....the radio powers the LCD which displays the Air ..heat..and all the messages for the car on the LCD...The factory radio must remain in the car.....Boy I'm gonna miss my Z1..but most of all...I'm gonna miss you guys...ya'll have been wonderful with helping me me with all the question in the pass few months...thanks
