Has anyone successfully installed a avic-z1 in a Dodge Dakota? if so what year? and did you experience any diffculties

You will have to perform some hackery to get that in your dash. Your head unit has the little round ears on it, right?

Yeah, if you can find a good installer with some fabrication experience, he/she should be able to take care of you. However, do NOT expect to have your friend who's "good with electronics" chop up your dash and have it come out near decent. Find a good shop.
