So I just installed my D3 and I'm having troubles viewing videos on my Ipod video 5th gen. Do I need RCA cables to view those videos?

Do you have the ipod cable? Have you done the bypass mod?
If you have the ipod cable, make sure that the TV Out setting in the Ipod is set to either ask or on. This is found in the video section under Video Settings. Now on the D3, make sure you are under the Ipod section. Look in the upper or lower right corner for the "Video" button. Press it. The D3 will show a black screen with instructions to start the video from the ipod. Start your video and enjoy.
You can fast forward and rewind from the D3 screen during ipod video playback, but you cannot start a video from the D3.

yeah i have the ipod cable and have the bypass mod.
I hear the sound but its still a black screen. I need to check my ipod video settings.

Make sure AV1 in the settings of the unit is set to ipod.

On the iPod, you have to go into the settings for video. In the settings, there should be an option for TV out. I have it set to ask me everytime I play a video to turn TV Out on or off.
