Hi!,

After Trying for an entire week,

every possible combo of Wince/maps/data & software without luck,

been reading every posts on this forum,

having all the possible problems, (missing mbr/format/blackscreen/reboots/reversed image/settings not working)

Hell been driving around without directions or music for a week...

So I descided to get the official legal version,

hoping by formatting my flash disk,

installing the 2 sd cards everything would b fixed...

WRONG

after the setup of data card 1 going smooth the data card 2 isn't installing and the gps isnt running @ all...

Anyone having some tips on what files i am missing?

or give me directions to install the 2 in a proper way

starting from a blank myflashdisk

using Avic-F900BT in West-Europe

thx a million!

update:

I've started over...

Formated the flash disk

rebooted

ran SD 1

all went smooth...

booted up again... nothing

ok no maps i figured

so went to win CE copied the filder APL2

still.. nothing...

I found in /content/maps/ the FBL extensions with 000 @ the back.. and others with 001 002 003

so i thought.. multipart archives?? but cant open them win 7-Zip or winrar...

is this what the update routine of the SD2 does?

is there a way to start the SD2 routine manualy?

I don't think you're going to get away with formatting and then trying to use Pioneer's update to reload the unit. You need someones backup, specifically that someone needs to be from the UK. If you can find a 2.0 backup, then apply your update after you've restored their backup. If you find someones 3.0 update, then you don't need the update you have as it will already be applied. I have the US version/maps so I can't help you unfortunately.

Are you booting into the Pioneer Nav software? If so make sure you have the pioneer license files if you are not seeing any maps. The maps are definitely on the 2nd card, so if you have not successfully loaded it that's why you don't see them. 1st card should be 350mb or so and the 2nd one 1.72g. (US version).

I called the shop,

and asked them if it was cool to copy the "my flash disk" on a showroom model,

so i can put it on mine, and try the updates again... crossed fingers its gonna work,

if it doesnt i'll just leave my avic there for repair..

tired of it

wasted way to much time on it!

thx for the help! will keep u posted on the solution

Ok well I promised an update

As I went to the store and wasted another 3hours

copying/formatting/rebooting/etc etc

from a new f900bt out of the box

no use

so i was like fuck it

so i returned it for repair mentioning "failed 3.0 update"

took of went back 2 work

2hours later they call me back:

We've got a swap for you! ready to b plugged in!

what a service and i wasted 2hours trying it bymyself...

oki the story gotz a tail,

@ the shop I saw the f10bt! I was like Auwch

nice!!!

so called some client/buddies.. saying hey i am selling my gps!

so i did!

and got the F10 hehe

its really amazing how fast this one boots up!

i got to get used to the button not being on the left no more tho

all ends well ;)
