iPhone on F700bt?

Hi everyone...

I installed an F700BT last night in my car. The install went smooth but had a few issues afterwards that I'm trying to resolve. One issue I thought the AVIC411 community could help me out with is regarding iPhone support for the F700BT. When I connect my iPhone (with my iPhone USB cable) to the usb port that is supplied with the f700bt, the iPod icon lights up just fine.

Here are my questions/issues.

1. iPhone support for audio/video files. I have a number of songs on my iPhone. When I click on the iPod icon in AV Sources, I see a song playing (and can pause, stop, ff/rwnd it). However, I do not hear anything at all. I know my speakers are working because my other AV sources work just fine. I do get a pop-up on my iPhone that says something about incompatibility with some devices (yadda yadda yadda). I imagine my issue has something to do with this, however I am unsure. Any insight?

2. Transferring contact list from iPhone (via bluetooth or cable). I am able to connect to my 700BT with bluetooth with no issue at all. All works well, however when I try to transfer contacts...it never works! Any clues on how I should go about doing this?

By the way I am on 2.2.1 on the iPhone (not 3G) and 2.0 on the F700BT. I'll be updating the F700BT's firmware tonight. Overall though, I am impressed with the unit and its capabilities. Looking forward to improving it via mods. =)

thanks!

To start with, you will need a cable to be able to watch videos or listen to music on the iphone and or ipod. I think someone has already posted a link for it. As for the other issues like the bluetooth, sometimes it can be hit and miss. You just have to keep at it. It worked for me. By the way IMO you should upgrade both your phone and your headunit
