Whenever i reset my GPS calibration it will not select 3d Hybrid it always selects symple hybrid even after i reset all three settings. I have the speed sense wire connected. i never connected the reverse lights and i have the 2 wires grounded for the bypass. any suggestions?
3D Cailbration
It takes as much as 100 miles to go into 3d hybrid or as little as 15 miles. But you have to have the speed sense wire hooked up and it has to be "compatible" with the Z1. If you have it hooked to RPM instead of speed, it will confuse the Z1 and it will never get out of simple hybrid.
I would manually monitor the speed sense signal (MENU - SETTINGS - HARDWARE - CONNECTION STATUS) and see if it goes up and down with speed. If it looks weird, you might not have it connected to the right thing.
You either didn't give the Z1 enough time or you have the speed sense wire hooked to something which is not compatible with the Z1.
what is the 3d hybred and rest gps stuff and how do i get it to learn my roads
Instructions:
1. Read the manual before installation.
2. Install
3. Read manual for proper operation
4. Enjoy
If i monitor the speed during driving it matches my speedometer within 1 - 2 mph. My friends Z1 goes to 3D Hybrid within 20 seconds of driving. My only conclusion is that it is not compatable with the speed signal i ma using. When i initially set it up i ran it without speed pulse hooked up. I confirmed it with the HELM service manual before hooking it up VSS wird comming from the sensor itself. any other ideas? maybe there is another setting i amnot resetting. I was thinking of goign to the service screen and wiping the gps data completely to see if that helps.
When I go to :
MENU>SETTINGS>HARDWARE
Under CONNECTION STATUS: Speed Pulse = 0 all the time.
Under 3D CALIBRATION STATUS: Speed matches car speed within 1-2 mph.
So I think my speed sense wire is not connected or incorectly connected. Thanks for the help, I will have to verify the correct connection.
Can anyone verify the correct wire color for the VSS on a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid? I have a manual at home but I didnt want to wait that long.
Seems there are 2 sensors on the CVT case that look like speed sensors.
2003 Honda Hivstick
Speed Sense white/green PCM
Notes: The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is behind the glove box. The VSS is in connector A (31 pins), pin 18. The VSS is also blue/white at the cruise control module to the left of the steering column, if equipped.
merry xmas
Thanks to all who helped!
I finally got the right speed sensor wire. By the way there are 4 speed sensors in this type of car i would recommend you connect to the cruise control module speed sensor wire it was the easiest to get at. Calibration has been reset, and no errors are on the connection status screen. So it should be working by tommorow. Thanks again cntrylvr79 and ducatiboy for all your help. PaisanNYC try to be a little more informative besides pointing out the obvious, the instruction manual does not specify which of the 4 speed sensors to connect the GPS to.
TonyFlow420 : 3D Hybrid is the way the GPS navigates the roads and is a calibration procedure by way that it learns how to position youon the map you see. the non speed sensor way to do this is by way of Simple hybrid calibration but this is with out 3D position info. as such the 3D bar is not used. thats the best i can explain it i am sure ducatiboy has better words than mine
thanks again guys! you have been a great help !
when my Z1 nav tells me to turn it never says the name of the street it just says "Turn left in 1/4 mile" is there a setting i need to turn on so that is says the names of the streets?
