iPod instead of External USB Hard Drive?

I have a F900BT EU edition. I purchased a Maxtor 250Gb External Hard Drive to play music from. I have to say that I am slightly disappointed with the time it takes between starting the car and being able to listen to music and also having to disconnect the USB and reconnect to get the unit to recognise it. It's also annoying that it goes back to the beginning of the track you were last listening to when restarting the unit. Very annoying when listening to live concert recordings, etc.

So, my questions are thus: What advantages would buying an iPod give me? Is the start up time quicker? Does the F900BT remember where you last listened? Is the video experience much better? Does the iPod replace the AV1 slot?

Many thanks in advance :D

There are no limitations with the ipod, and the answer is yes to all of your questions.

I think that was the answer I was looking for. Thank you.
