Hello:

My name is Cisco, I have an AVIC F90BT. Installed it yesturday. The unit is used and I received it from a trusted "friend." The harness has been modified so I can watch DVD etc while drving.

The firmware is 2.0006 not sure if the 3.01 is compatible. Doing the research now through this site.

My problem is this:

When I hook up my IPOD I hear the music from all my speakers and the voice recognition works great (sometimes it says it cant register it but whatever)

the SD card (music or video files) work great (hear sound from all the speakers.

The radio, hear sound from all speakers. AV input (through the front earphone jack) works great, hear the sound from all the speakers,

BUT! when I play a CD and/or a DVD I only hear the sound from the pasanger speakers (both front and back).

If I move the balance/fade to the left all i hear is just base. I do have an amp hooked up. Remote wire is being used and the subwoofer out/non-fading out are being used for the amp.

I just dont understand how I can hear the sound using all other sources but not when I play CD/DVD. Please help!

P.S. the harness was checked 3x and was done by a professional. Also, i did notice that on the DVD settings the L/R setting is desabled, I cant click on it to modify it. Not even sure what that is, but figure I mention it.

Thanks for the help!

sounds like a defective unit; warranty time.

could the update to the 3.0 fix this as it potentially fixed a similar problem with the IPOD sound issues?

Thanks!

and if its not under warantee, pioneer web site states $200.00 processing fee. is this true.

your issue sounds hardware related which is why I think it has nothing to do with the firmware. You could try an update but the iPod issue is more of a hardware problem as well; a crappy cable that Apple makes a better vesion of.
