Z2 boot up issue...

I have read most of the posts and can't really find someone with the same problem yet so please read and someone help me figure this out! I am on my second Z2 unit with the same issue of not booting up. I upgraded my current unit with the firmware update that was supposed to resolve the issue of freezing up at the blue Pioneer boot up screen. About six months after the firmware update now the unit will not even get to the blue Pioneer boot up screen, but will stay on the blank black screen. Thankfully, when this happens the unit stays on the last input that I used which is usually my iPod input and I can change tracks and the volume but that is the only thing I can do. I have also done the bypass for the dvd player which I know is not causing any of the problems I am having since it was working for over six months and when ever the unit does randomly turn on correctly the dvd player bypass will still work along with gps and all other areas the unit is supposed to be capable of. I have heard of upgrading to a new hard drive that already has the Z3 operating system on it that is supposed to not have any of the issues from the operating system of the Z2; does this actually work? What I also want to know is will my bypass still work with the operating system of the Z3, and is it possible to just remove the hard drive from the Z2 unit I currently own and just wipe it out and install the Z3 operating system onto it?

Hi,

I have had this happen a couple times. And the way I got around it was to re-apply the latest Firmware. After applying it the unit came backup and was working fine.

One thing I have noticed that if the Z2 is booting up and I turn off my car before it finishes, I can get into this state. So I wait now and it has not happened in like 7 months.

Thanks,
