I am in the process of installing the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (I broke down and purchased one). I purchased the IPod adapter and the AUX adapter (CD-RB20). When I plug the IPod adapter in it works. When I plug the AUX adapter into the IPod adapter I have no AUX input available on the AVIC-Z1. Anyone have any experience with the AUX adapter? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have to go into the initial menu and turn the aux input on first. It doesn't automatically become availible like the ipod does.

Understood....however I cannot select an AUX source as it's greyed out. It's as if the HU is not seeing the AUX adapter. I just went out and plugged the AUX unit directly into the HU and same issue cannot select the AUX unit as it's greyed out and will not allow you to select it.

That's normal. Like I said in my previous post you must turn on the aux input under one of the settings menus.

Here, cut directly from the z1's owner's manual. Page 155 to be exact.

Switching the auxiliary setting

It is possible to use auxiliary equipment with navigation

system as the one of source. Activate the

auxiliary setting when using auxiliary equipment

connected to the navigation system.

1 Touch [AUX Input] in the System Settings

menu.

Touching [AUX Input] switches between

[On] and [Off].

Thank you...just found the setting when I was outside and found that turning on the AUX input does help!
