I just installed me N3 yesterday. Everything works but the navigation. It keeps asking me to insert the appropriate disc. When I do, It says it cant read it. Is there some other software that needs to be installed first or is that on the Map Discs??

Thanks,

Shawn

That's it, just the map disc. Which nav disc model # do you have? Is it new?

Yes, brand new - just took the discs out of the factory rappers yesterday. They are CNDV-60M (version 1.0) East/West. The N3 doesnt seem to recognize the discs. I was looking in the owners manual on pg 125 where it talks about installing the 'program'. Since this unit was not installed at a shop, I thought maybe I had missed a step???? The Nav Screen is Grey and says 'Please insert appropriate disc'.

Thanks again,

Shawn

UPDATE - I just tried to play a regular DVD movie. After a minute or so of the unit displaying "reading format", no video displayed and I got another message that said "read error". Does ANYONE know or have any experience with this problem?? PLEASE HELP!!!

NEW UPDATE- I contacted Pioneer directly and was told the following -

They told me that the Laser Pickup was most likely misaligned. They reccomended that I return it for a replacement unit. Hope this helps someone else out there.

Sounds about right, you should be able to get it warrantied without issue.
