Hi

I am looking to purchase my first aftermarket head unit, and i have more or less decided on one of the Pioneer F-Series. But Im not sure what would be best. I am looking for the cheapest version that can handle the below.

The main reason for changing my head unit is a) SatNav and B) Outputting video to a rear screen.

So the main functionality I am looking for is to be able to output video/DVD to a rear screen, whilst using the SatNav on the head unit. I also want to be able to use the radio/ipod etc at the same time as the SatNav. Is it also true that on these units the audio stops playing when the voice kicks in with a direction?

Can anyboody advise the best unit to go for? Any guidance will be appreciated.

Cheers

yes they will stop the music to give you directions then turn it back on

the F700 does not have a DVD player and because of this has no video out (no rear screens)

the F900 has a DVD player and a video out (you can also send video out from an Ipod to the rear screens)

the F900 is the discontinued older model and the X910 is the new hottness

the new Z is even better

hope this helps

I would stick with an F or X series since they are easier to hack.
