I just got this and installed it today. I am running two amps one for subs and the other for front and rear channels. Is there any way to test the preout off of the back of the HU so I know for sure thats what it is before I send it out? I have switched wires all around and ran then fronts in series to confirm that my speakers do infact work. I tried using a volt meter but I dont think it works quite right. Or is there something im missing or some setting?

if there is a set of pre-outs that do work, plug the rca's into them, if the speakers that where not working before, suddenly start working, then you have confirmed your problem.

you could also substitute a source, such as an Ipod with a headphone to RCA cord, and plug the Ipod in to the RCA's, if the speakers that where not working before suddenly start working, then you have confirmed your problem.

Well the weird thing is I hooked my old HU back up to it to make sure it was working and the exact same channel wasnt working on my Alpine HU. The chances of them both being bad and being the exact same channel are highly unlikely. I thought I tested the RCA cables and determined they were fine but I want to double check it. Im going to pull my dash all back apart tomorrow and mess around with it some more and see if I cant narrow it down.

Would it be possible to soldier in a RCA plug onto the speaker wire outs that are suppose to go into the main car wiring harness?
