So i just updated my F90Bt to 3.000.300 and when I connect my iPhone 3g the unit opens up the ipod screen and "plays" a song, however there is no audio output, no matter how high I turm up the volume. I was hoping this would be fixed by updating from v2.0 to v3.0.

Anyone have any idea?

Is it installed properly with both USB and RCA connections as the manual and install guide show?

and have you verified that you've changed AV1 to ipod?

Hmmm, there is an assumption made that it is hooked up properly as I just bought this truck and this was all preinstalled.

When I connect the iphone the unit automatically goes to ipod mode, downloads the VR updates (whatever that is) and triees to play music. I can go forward or back, increase the volume but no output.

The cable i connect to the iphone also has a usb end that connects to my backup camera (dont know if that's relevant).

The AVIC uses USB for the ipod control, and the RCA jacks for the audio and video.

number one symptom of not having the RCA's connected? no audio but you can control the ipod on-screen.

If you're using an ipod cable that doesn't have RCA and USB on it, then you're not using the correct cable.

Make sure the iphone isn't switching its audio output to BT audio. This is a constant problem on other unit that have BT audio. If this is happening, there will be a BT symbol on the bottom right on the iPod screen. Touch it and it will open and give you the option to switch to DOCK CONNECTOR. You will have to do this every time you start the car.

??? I have never seen a USB cable that connects to a backup camera. Did you purchase the optional iPod cable for your unit?

I agree that i dont think you are using the right cable. the right cable should have an ipod connection on one end and about 6 feet of red white yellow rca on the other as well as like a 6 inch usb to plug into the usb that is built into the stereo. The red white yellow plug into the the av1 input of the radio

if i had a $1 for every time a regular usb cable was used to hook up an ipod to an F-series, i would have a new Z for free by now!
