I posted in the past that under warranty I sent my unit back and Pioneer had to reload the software. My unit would not go beyond the slpash screen. It would just go black although you could hear something inside it that sounded like a hard drive spinning. Pioneer tech told me the OS needed reloaded. So I sent it in and they did it and I got it back and all is good. Now the reason for this thread. If this happenes again, is there a solution or steps I can take that will allow me to reload the OS myself. Can I make a back up copy? If so how. Can I buy a back up copy. If so where? I'm surly not the sharpest knife in the drawer but with instruction I can do. I have the 2.006 update from last summer and have not yet purchased the latest firmware and map update.
