D3 not responding after turning unit off and back on

I got my car back from a body shop that it was at and upon turning the car on the screen came up to the password request screen, no big deal just means that power was cut to it at some point, I entered my password and accepted it and my D3 began working properly. It was syncing to my phone via bluetooth, playing the Ipod though the Ipod cable, following my position via GPS, in other word working perfectly.

I turned the car off and then restarted the car effectively turning the D3 off then back on, when it powered back up it gave me the AV OFF screen, the blank-ish screen with the clock in the upper left had corner, It would also not respond to any of the buttons on the front or touching the screen. I pushed the little reset button and it took me back to the password screen and at that point repeated what I described before when turning the car off and on. The only way to get the D3 to respond again after turning it off is to push the reset button. I have have unplugged the D3 from the car but still the same results. I have also gone in and used the factory reset in the menu, but nothing.

Any one have any ideas?

I am having the identical problem. I took the deck out to install ground loop isolators. But now mine has gone even one step further and refuses to take any input on the password screen. Now it's a door stop.

Watching this thread to see if someone can answer.

old thread but I am having the same issue with my D3. every time I restart the car the D3 boots up with "starting pioneer navigation" then goes to the "off" screen. the only way it will respond is by hitting the reset button and resetting all my settings. after this the unit operates normally, I can even turn it off and back on manually. but as soon as I turn the car off it locks up again.

hopefully the third post is the charm and someone has some advice. :???:
