Hello, I think my head is going to explode. I bought the z110bt today and while Im waiting for it to arrive Im trying to get all my ducks in a row for a uneventful install. After hours of reading threads on here and chevy avalanche fan club, I feel like Im no more closer to having a clear idea of what I need to get. As I said above I have a 2003 avalanche, I have the onstar and bose amplified system in it. Can anyone tell me exactly what to buy? I want to keep my chimes etc, I dont really care if I lose onstar, and until I upgrade my door speakers I would like to keep the bose amp and speaker setup. also I want to retain my steering wheel controls.

Heres what I think I need...please correct me if Im wrong.

1)PAC OS-2BOSE harness/interface

2)PAC SWI-PS for steering wheel controls

3) dash trim/install kit...any suggestions on a good quality one?

4) Ipod cable...once again, can anyone recomend one?

And...

I have heard conflicting stories of whether or not I need to get an additional chime module

5) PAC CM-1??

At first I wanted to bypass the whole bose setup altogether because it seems like the higher I crank the volume on my factory head unit the softer my sub hits (kicker 400.1 mono amp and 2 kicker 10's) currently hooked up via line level adapter after the bose amp. I read that the HU is responsible for backing the signal down to the amp to eliminate distortion?? so in theory, when I replace my factory HU and connect my kicker amp directly to the AVIC, I wont have this problem? and I can keep the factory bose amp and door speakers until I upgrade them?

Thanks to everyone on here for any help. My appologies if this has been answered elsewhere, Ive looked and looked!

2. Yes, make sure to specify version 1.68 so you will get VR control.

4. There is only one compatible iPod cable and it is the one from Pioneer (CD-IU50V) It is sold separately.

Sorry to ask. I pulled up that cable on ebay and it looks like its USB and 3.5 mini on the end that goes into the HU. I havent recieved my z110 yet but from the pics, I dont see a USB input...unless its in the harness with all the rca's? also, in the listings they all say that cable is for AVH-P3100DVD. Not doubting you just clarifying. Thanks again

VR is Voice Recognition. The iPod cable I mentioned plugs into a multi pin cable that comes with the unit. That cable has the female USB input as well as a female 1/8" input for the iPod AV. The CD-IU50V is certainly the cable you need. You can go to the Pioneer site and check the accessories for the 110 and you will see it there. One last thing, be careful when ordering accessories on ebay. A lot of them are cheap Chinese knock offs that can cause problems when using them with the unit or iPod.
