I've looked through nearly every no-boot thread that I could find and couldn't find one that had the same symptoms I am showing.
I have had my AVIC unit for a little over a year, it's a refurb unit, so it only came with a 90-day warranty, so unfortunately warranty repair is out of the question.
Anyways, what has now began happening is that upon bootup, it appears the unit is trying to read from flash memory. It reads the memory, and then tries to write it, and fails at 94% of writing. At this point, the unit turns off and will. The unit always fails at the same spot. I have a newer battery (only a few months old), so I do not believe the battery is the issue.
A note that I would suspect is of some significants, after having the unit installed, during warm weather it works flawlessly, throughout the first winter, It would not boot when the car was cold, had to drive for about 15-20 minutes and then the unit would boot. This was believe to be a battery problem, due to battery testing bad. Battery was replaced after winter due to budget issues, and unit worked flawlessly throughout the summer. Now that winter is upon us, the problems started again. Unit would begin to boot, and fail while booting and shut off.
Unit has never been moded, running all stock software. Currently has 2.0 firmware, which it came with.
Tried loading a flash card with the 2.006 firmware update, would not even attempted to read from the card, just keeps trying to re-write what is in the flash memory.
