I recently bought the pioneer avic-z110bt but the navigation will only say "in 500 feet turn right" it will not say the street name? Is my unit defective? According to the menu and pioneer website, this unit should say the street name.

Annoying thing with text to speech is, the voice is more computerized than the default voice. Default voice sounds more human but with no TTS. :x

The default voice is human. The TTS is AI so it is going to sound unnatural. Its not that bad.

I don't mind using the default human voice without TTS because I can see the street names where I suppose to turn. :)

Agree, the plain voice sounds much better then the TTS. I tried it tonight for the fist time and found it much better.
