I have the f900 bt and recently just installed a pioneer back up camera. I followed the instructions and wired the camera to the switched power source. At first, I had to turn the camera on through the settings. Then it started coming on at start up and I could get it to go off by hitting menu or map. Then I couldn't get it to turn off at all. I even disconnected it. The camera screen still stayed on but was just black. I eventually had to reset it with the camera disconnected and that has seemed to work.

I am going to try wiring it up to the reverse light wire. So that it will only be on when the lights are on.

I am wondering if anyone has had or heard about this problem before and if they figured out what it was all about.

That is not going to solve your problem and will prevent you from being able to view the camera when not in reverse.

Okay, do you know the proper way or what possibly I could do to resolve the issue?

How did other people hook up their back up cameras?

Follow the install instructions that came with the camera.

I've had this happen twice.

After you have had it on long enough for start-up to be done, put the emergency brake or hold the brake, then put the vehicle into reverse. If the menu display comes up in reverse, go to the Main Menu -> Settings -> System Settings -> Back Camera -> On and touch Battery or GRD by polarity. Mine just seems to forget for some reason and thinks it's in reverse when it's not and ain't when it is, very frustrating, but a fairly simple fix.
