AM Signal problem

Someone installed this unit for me. But for some reason, AM radio has no signal at all. None of the channels work.

Would that be the unit defective? FM works fine. But it seems the signal little weak compare to my stock Mercedes Head Unit. Does it have any antenna for receiving AM signal ? How do I trouble shoot it.

AM on some cars will not work if the antenna amp is not connected with the antenna adapter used. Usually there is a wire attached to the antenna adapter that switches the antenna amp on. If not connected, it can affect AM reception.

Hello VBLUE42, where is the antenna amp? Does it come with the Z110BT or I need to purchase it ?

I don't know if my mercedes have the antenna amp built in.

It depends on your vehicle but on my car there is a plug attached to the antenna cable. The antenna adapter I use has a wire attached to it that plugs into the remote turn on for the antenna amp.
