I just got a F500BT, Ive been using it without the cradle hook up for a good month now without issues.

Well I took the leep and went to hook it up with the cradle. First off, I hooked up the battery cable (always on power), and the parking break to ground. The headunit is not getting a charge when in the cradle. I hooked up the 5v black wire to the vehicle socket adapter (harness output; not the unit output itself) and it worked. So the harness delerived the power to the cradle, but without it nothing.

ALSO, I hooked up the Aux Output wire to my Head Unit and Im getting SERIOUS ground noise, it sounds like aliens are attacking. Grinding with Poping coming through the speakers. But to add to it, theres no sound still coming out of it from the F500BT all navi comes out of the device speaker.

And to top it off. I've attached the USB wire that came with the device for my USB Flash Drives. And when I go to A/V USB is not shown as active to use it.

Please help!

Little more info, I didn't hook up Rear View, Mic. And I have added the latest TeleAtlas Maps, and preformed a 3.0 upgrade without the WINCE update.

Thanks for any tips.

Update: In regards to the USB not working, perhaps becuase I haven't done that software hack and just the hardware hack the usb isn't working. Can you not listen to music while drivin or somthing on this unit?

Anywho, I managed to get power, and usb working and no audio noise by not using the harness that came with the unit. When I use the harness that came with the unit, it won't power on, audio output doesn't work at all, the unit is mute when on the cradle, and usb doesn't work.

So I wired it up using the side outputs and inputs on the device itself, IE; Power, USB, and Audio. Everything works flawlessly.

Do I have a bad harness? Any ideas?

Did you hook it up to your vehicles iso harness or did you just cut off the connections and manualy connect each wire.
