Hello

An thanks for letting join the forum. I just installed AVIC Z110BT. Do you know what sounds better, Ipod or SD. If I have music ripped at the same Kb/sec on both media which sounds better? When using the iPOD is the AVIC pulling over analogue data or is it decoding the raw MP3 from the ipod.

Thanks in advance. Been reading the forum for a while.

The iPod connection to the AVIC is analog but don't let that fool you into thinking the quality is mediocre. As far as which sounds better depends on the the level of compression you use when encoding the files to the format you use. I use Apple Lossless in iTunes to encode all of my audio so it is near CD quality. The iPod interface is such a pleasure to use over any of the other digital sources that even if I am getting a degradation in audio quality I can live with it. I question as to weather anyone can really tell a quality difference in a moving vehicle with 25+ year old ears anyway. Most of us can no longer hear actual CD quality any longer past the age of 25+.

Doesn't this unit have some kind of enhancer software that tries to "fill in the gaps" for the SD and MP3 CD's sources?

I too think that the IPod sounds pretty dang good... and use it most, but since I'm not using my SD card for anything, I'd like to put some of my favorite songs encoded with better quality on it...

Is there a video of anybody using the SD option on the Avic Z110bt. I always see people using the ipod or iphone but never see anyone using the SD card to play audio or video.
