I was just wondering if the faceplates on the N1-N3 are interchangeable? My N3 headunit i think might be pooched, and i think i found a N1 replacement for cheap, but the faceplate is kinda trashed.. Can I use my N3 faceplate?

would like to know the answer to this one as well.

i just spoke to pioneer costumer service after waiting for 10 mins, and hey told me that they are not interchangeable.

I dont think that is true. I believe the N1 and N3 faceplates ARE interchangeable. I always was under the impression that the only difference between the two units was the hideaway "brain". The N3 is much more upgraded for better ipod control, and for the visual XM Radio graphics. but the head units themselves were identical?

i sold my N2 face on ebay, and the guy contacted me saying it was not working on his N3. thats why I decided to call pioneer to confirm it.

maybe this information will be helpful! i have n4 and year ago my kid scratched faceplate, call pioneer with question if n5 faceplate fits my unit, answer was NO. i bought it anyway because it was so cheap on ebay ($60) and it fits and works perfect.

Im 100% sure they are Interchangeable, I have an N1 in my Truck and one in my MR2 both with N1 brain. The MR2 has a N3 faceplate & they both work on the either one. my wife is always taking my N3 faceplate by accident. here's a pic of N3 faceplate on N1 Navi.
