My N1 has the typical black screen issue, as well as no audio or any of the face plate buttons working. I was told that the issue is not in the headunit portion, but either in the data cable to the hideaway unit or the hideaway unit itself. Both the cable and hideaway units appear to be in rather nce condition for the units age. No signs of moisture or tampering.

Has anyone else seen this to have ever been a problem? Just curious and looking for other AVIC people input.

hey i had the same thing happen to my n1, at first a few of the buttons on the faceplate stopped working, then the screen went out and then the sound, the problem is in the strip that connects the slide out screen in the head unit, you can see it on the back of the screen as it slides out and flips up, as it gets damaged you lose more functions, got mine fixed and its workin like new
