I am buying an 07 F150. I was considering the Z1 unit as an upgrade. The salesman is trying to convince me to get a factory Nav unit. Anyone use a factory Ford Nav unit? How are they? What would be the benefits of a Z1? Will I lose functionality of the steering wheel controls on the F150? I would appreciate any input.

I have a 06 and I got the Nav system with it, and there are some good things with it yes its all ready in the truck and thats great and it works with your CD but there is no DVD player in it no BT, and less controls. Its really trimed down Z-1 I did some research and I know Pioneer makes the nav for Ford so I took mine out and put in my Z-1 and I like it better.

Oh yea you can have your installer wire it in so that it will still work with the steering wheel control I did.... works great.

Great! I decided on the Z1. Should be done with installation tomorrow. I look forward to trying it out.
