Is there any way to modify the Sirius player to display more than one line of information? Even in my old, mostly useless Kenwood unit, I was able to see the channel name, artist, song and composer at a glance. I searched the board and I saw that upgrading the sirius unit makes no difference in this regard

Please use the search button instead of rehashing dead issues. The answer is 'NO', this is hard coded into the Avic and cannot be changed. There are several threads on this in the past.

Ok, newb question then. Why is it that the maps portion can be completely adjusted and the sirius, etc can't be? Is the maps portion 3rd party? Can the Sirius portions be replaced with another program that would be able to process the information more effectively?

In regards to searching the forum, I did, but only found one thread addressing it, and it just dealt with the fact that upgrading didn't help. I challenge you to find a thread addressing this issue in under 5 minutes of searching (I would consider that a reasonable amount of time searching to assume the question has not been fully addressed)

Well there are numerous threads on here over the years that address that question. The AV software cant be modded as the navi software can because of the reasons stated above.
