are the Z1 and Z110BT the same on the back? the inputs.... I have a Z1 with bluetooth xm and ipod.. I am wondering if I can just take the head unit out and replace it with the newer model.

No, they are completely different.

at least the XM module will still work and the bluetooth is built in so you wont need to get a new module
