iPod sometimes works, sometimes not...

Hi all,

New Z110BT in my 911 (professional install) with iPod cable. Sometimes when I turn the unit on the iPod is working, sometimes not.

To fix it, I just unplug and plug back in the iPod. Then the icon lights up and it works perfectly.

Any clues?

Oh, its a 120 gig Classic with the latest software.

Restore and resync your content.

I'm sorry, what do you mean?

Do you mean backup the iPod music and then put it back on the iPod? Or???

And, what does this do to help my situation? Please explain further.

ps: iPods cannot be backed up without 3 ed party software... I have 75 gig of music on my iPod. It will take hours to do this...

You should have the same music on your computer in your iTunes library. Restoring and resyncing your data almost always clears up stubborn iPod issues.. And syncing 160 gigs of content only takes me about an hour and a half on my system.
