Has anyone opened one of these things up to see what's inside? Ok, that was a stupid question. I assume there is a conventional hard drive in these things, is that correct? If so, is there any way to replace said hard drive with an ssd? Or, if there is already an ssd, is there any way to upgrade to a larger ssd? Similar question regarding RAM - can it be physically increased? Seems like there must be some way to improve boot times on these rascals. Yes, I am running 3 and have upgraded the maps (700bt).

I tried to find ref to these questions in the forum but I admit that I did not do an exhaustive search so, flame away if you feel the need.

No hard drive! Inside the Avic is 2GB of flash memory that is soldered onto the main board. No upgrade possibilities there, otherwise, I would have done it long ago.

while on the subject of flash meemory do you happen to know the transfer rate for the SD card slot? im assuming its a wimpy 4 Mbps...
