Help a first time installer

I just purchased a Z110BT and am attempting to install it myself into my old 2000 Honda Odyssey EX with no Nav (1999 - 2004 models). I have been able to mount the unit and get most functions working but I have a few questions.

1) On the factory harness, there are wires for Illumination and for Dimmer. The Z110 harness only has one wire (orange/White) that says it goes to the lighting switch terminal. Should it be wired to the illumination or the dimmer wire on the factory harness? Does the Dimmer wire allow control over the screen brightness from the car dimmer control?

2) VSS wire - I found the following by searching the forums - 04 Odyssey Reverse Light green/black + driver fuse box, 10 pin plug Speed Sense blue/white cruise ctrl unit to right of column I don't understand exactly where to look for the Speed Sense wire - Is the column the Steering Wheel Column? Do I have to remove more trim panels to find this wire? How do I identify the Cruse Control Unit?

This is a great forum - The information allowed me to do the bypass without problems. I still have to complete the VSS, Backup wire and steering wheel controls.

I managed to find the information for the illumination, reverse and vss wires and all is working. I will post the information so anyone else with a 1999 to 2004 Honda Odyssey will not have to search so hard.

The orange/white lighting wire on the Z110BT harness can go to either the illumination or dimmer wire. The dimmer wire allows you to dim the Z110BT with the car dimmer control. Both change the Z110BT screen to night mode when the car lights are turned on.

The reverse wire is a green and black wire near the driver fuse block. It is attached to a 10-ping plug and can be easily measured with a meter. Put the car into reverse and you will see 12-volt on your meter when you measure from this connection to ground. Take the car out of reverse and there will be no voltage.

The vss wire is the blue/white wire in pin 12 of the 14-pin plug connecting to the cruise control module. The cruise control module is just behind and to the right of the steering column. The wires on that connection are coloured as follows:

Pin1 - Brn

Pin2 - Grey

Pin3 - Blk

Pin4 - Blk/Yel

Pin5 - Wht/Blk

Pin6 - Lt Grn/Red

Pin7 - Lt Grn/Blk

Pin8 - Blu/Grn

Pin9 - Brn/Wht

Pin10 - Blu/Blk

Pin11 - Brn/Blk

Pin12 - Blu/Wht *** VSS Wire***

Pin13 - Lt Grn

Pin14 - Lt Blu

The vss outputs 4000 pulses per mile

I also installed the PAC-Audio Steering Wheel Control with no issues. I set it to control volume up/down and Voice Input with the 3 available steering wheel buttons. Now I have to obtain and install a reverse camera and then the installation will be complete.
