Avic D1 randomly loses memory settings

Purchased a remanufactured unit and installed it about 2 weeks ago along w/ ipod & xm tuner. 1st week worked great. 2nd week randomly after shutting off the vehicle for an extended period of time, then restarting, it loses the preset angle adjustment, equalizer settings, presets, etc.... as if the memory wire was disconnected.

Any suggestions? I guess I can check the yellow wire to make sure it's firmly connected, but the unit has never shut off during operation.

Thanks,

Mark

What kind of vehicle is it it. You also need to check the ground wire too. If either the yellow or black wires lose contact the unit will do exactly what you're talking about.

You hit it right on the head! I had a loose ground at the harness connector. Seems that one of the pins was pushed out when I mated the 2 connectors.

Thanks!

04 Ford Sport Trac. The problem was with the aftermarket harness connector - super glue fixed the problem. So far so good.
