I took my Nissan dash apart and connected the 910's VSS wire following these instructions.

The unit seems to work, MPH speed is pretty responsive on the setup/satellite screen, but I am not sure how much different it is from before the VSS connection.

 

Is there any way to confirm that the unit is getting the VSS signal? Is there a status indicator or something?

According to the below thread, there should be some place on some screen of the display where it displays the signal/pulse that it's receiving from the vss wire:

Could be unit specific though...not sure.
