D2 Touchscreen unresponsive

So here's the deal. My touchscreen started to become off by a half inch to the touch. Then it started to fly by itself and would go out of the map area. Now it wont even respond to me touching the OK button on the warning screen witch makes it a "CD playing brick".

After searching this forum I found the screen recalibration instructions and started that process. The problem is, when I go to the "trace screen" no white line appears when I trace with a stylus. On the calibration screen the stylus works when I touch the + signs on the screen but when I turn the car off and on and the d2 reboots it doesn't respond to any touch.

So I guess my next question is; has anybody had this particular problem and did you shoot your D2 or fix it? If fixed, how so?

It can be fixed. You have to replace the touch panel. Not too complicated if you are familiar with electronics. The part costs about $70. If you decide not to fix it, I would be interested in taking it off your hands as my D1 has a bad LCD screen.

Cool thanks! I can't seem to find the part (touch screen) on the internet, only a service in Connecticut that will do it. Do you know who sells the part?
