OK, I did the 3.0 upgrade (The legal one and have the 2 SD cards) now on boot I get the Pioneer flash screen and a Windows style error box saying that the map files are outdated. Anyone run into this one before, and how do I fix it?
Unit wasn't hacked or modded prior to updating to 3.0 with legal update.
Ok, all I can say is what a pain in the butt this was. Unit went from fine to just the splash screen and a windows type error. Which was terminal. Only made it to the splash screen. Tried reinstalling the 3.0 update, nope didn't work. Tried backing the unit down to 2.0 and using the 3.0 wince. That worked just as good as the reinstall 3.0 it failed. Tried some of the hacked ezrider and generic license. Fail.....
Ended up pulling it from the truck Sunday and putting the stocker in (would have killed someone in road rage without any tunes)
Ended up having to go into the service menu and formatting the mbr and reinstalling 2.0 Got that going and seemingly stable. Then redid the 3.0. Put the Avic back in the truck last night. Some interesting observations so far. No key beeps heard going from source to source.
Unit seems to boot up a lot quicker than it normally had. Bluetooth connecting on boot seems faster. Will have to see if there is any benefit to wiping a unit back to factory state and doing upgrade immediately afterward. I'm a happy camper again.
IT pays to have a backup copy of the software. Luckily that was the first thing I did when I got it.
