Help with static noise with the 700

I just replaced my 06 SE-R Bose headunit with a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT. I used the 70-7551 Metra harness. Everything works great but I do have one issue...

When the volume is low or audio is off while using the NAV there's a constant noise that sounds like static coming from the speakers. It's also there while the phone is used with the built-in BT.

The noise is not alternator whine and does not get louder with speed or higher volume.

Can someone recommend a solution?

I have been told to:

Ground the RCA's to the chassis of the F700 - This is to see if the pico fuse was blown.

or

Ground Loop Isolators on the RCA's

Please help!

if you're still using the Bose Amp AND using the Pioneer speaker outputs then you're double-amping, and you need a line level converter for the Pioneer if the Bose won't accept RCA inputs.

The magic word you're looking for is "hissing" not "static"

I've used the 70-7551 which is the Bose integration harness from Metra that has the RCA connectors.

I guess it's a hiss but sounds like static to me. Then again, it's all the same! Noise that needs to be gone!

I know this post is a little old now but while searching through the forums to find an answer to my own issue, thought I'd give my suggestion for this topic's question while looking around hehe...

When I had my F700 installed in my Tahoe, I had alternator whine, AND hissing (when the engine is off). I could never fix the alternator whine but I did fix the hissing.

Replacing the stock head unit of my tahoe meant I'd lose all the bells, chimes and alert sounds (things like the "dinging" sound when doors are open, or head lights turned on with engine off, etc..). So for me I needed to pair the Pioneer with a Scosche device (can't remember the exact name/model) that I guess reproduces all those sounds.

The HISSING I heard, was due to the dashboard light dimmer switch (which controls the volume of the vehicles stock bells, chimes, and alert sounds when initially programming it) for the Scosche. The hissing would completely go away when turned all the way down, or all the way up, but at any point in between, there was hissing. I turned it all the way up and that was the end of the hissing.

This may not apply to you but I thought I'd throw this suggestion out there for you, perhaps it'll work :)
