Ok so I just installed the Ipod cable, and now every time i connect my iPhone 3g to the cable, a message comes on saying it's updating the VR and it takes about 3 minutes or more every time I connect it, why? and is there anyway to avoid this?

Let it catalog the first time and then turn the VR cataloging feature off. If you intend to use VR for the iPod, you will need to catalog every time you change content on the iPhone.

I've found VR overall to be pretty worthless for this unit anyway. I turned off the voice, turned off the catalog, and even turned off the stupid beeps and I am a happier man for it.

my VR works great, no problems, but definitly turn off catalog after you let it do it once, (it will remember every thing) and turn it back on once every time you add anything to the ipod
