i've use the avic f700 since almost 2 years, and i was really happy using it with the iphone...but 2 years later here the new situation...

the audio video rca with usb cable / wire is "broken"....i mean the connection on the iphone is not good...

sometimes it's connected, sometimes not, due to a broken "wire" inside the plug connector.

i've opened it, a saw the ground signal wire broken... and the other wire contacts are not better ( "twisted to the max...")...

after 2 years connect / unconnecting the iphone...i'm happy that the avic still works great (... for an avic , lol )

so i decided to replace the audio video usb connection and to add an iphone dock stick in a support in order to not move all the time the connection ( i hope you understand my bad english

but the dock don't transfert sound in the avic, i even don't talk about video signal by the standard dock...i just have access to the control screen by the avic

so i don't know what to do...it's maybe because of the original apple audio video usb cable with little electronic board inside, combined with the other electronic board of the dock, that i don't have sound and video, because when the dock is connected to the computer, i can hear all the mp3 of the iphone...

apple is shit for that compatibilty... !!!!

i even think to change the mobile phone with "standard" usb output that can also send video signal like the iphone...so if anybody have an idea that would be great, because with standard mini usb cable there would be less problems...

but what mobile phone to use in order to have the same fonction as the iphone ???? ( mp3, video !!, bluetooth....)

if any experts can advise me some good long time working solution, or i just buy a new apple "shit" cable ...

i answer to myself, i think if i want to keep the same install but more "safety" i have to buy the "universal" dock that allow video output to the iphone....

apple is cmplicated....

I just don't understand what is so hard about buying a new composite video and RCA audio cable from Apple, it's one of the best built out there as opposed to the cheap knock-offs.

diane, i've bought a new composite cable, that's not the real problem...and even an universal dock...

my idea is to stick the universal dock somewhere , to connect the composite cable beteween the universal dock and the avic in order to not twist the composite cable to the limit by using it, years after years...( at least i only change the universal dock if it is broken...that's more easy than unplug the composite cable behind the avic everytime it's broken...)

my little kid play with that cable, and with a sticked dock, playing with the cable is less easy for children....
